Palatine Women's Club Pledge:
I pledge to the Palatine Women's Club my cooperation and willingness to help serve my Club and Community to the best of my ability.
Our Organization: Our club works well together as everyone participates in making the club run smoothly. We have four primary officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer -- who have the main administrative responsibility for the club.
The officers are supported by a number of committees:
- Allocations -- Reviews and proposes how our funds are to be allocated among the various charities. The membership then discusses and votes on the recommendations.
- Hostess -- Works with members to ensure that those all important treats and refreshments are available at each meeting.
- Membership -- Welcomes new members, keeps the membership list current, and ensures that membership dues are paid and recorded.
- Newsletter -- Collects information from each committee, prepares the newsletter, and mails it out to the membership.
- Program -- Plans for the main speaker or presenter for the monthly meetings.
- Publicity -- Collects club information and sends it to The Daily Herald, and Palatine Countryside for publication. Also requests display space at the Palatine Public Library and on the Palatine Events Sign in downtown Palatine.
- Recreation -- Coordinates the various social activities of the club. This includes, but is not limited to Bowling, Bridge, Golf, Tennis, and the Book Club.
- Revisions -- Maintains the Club's by-laws.
- Service -- Coordinates various service activities such as assisting with Special Olympics events, helping to sort clothes at a charity "Kids Closet", or other community activities.
- Ways and Means -- This is the "fund raising" committee. This committee is the nucleus for the ideas and organization of our fund raising efforts. They provide the "Ways and Means" to support the Allocations.
- Yearbook -- Produces the annual program book containing the meeting schedules, events, and membership list of the club.
- Auditing -- reviews the books.
- Finance -- Coordinates the Allocations and Ways and Means committees.
- Historian -- Records club events and activities for posterity.
- Representative for Women make History at Harper College -- the club participates in Women's History Month at Harper College.
